- What You Can Expect -
Ride through the historic core of Valencia, seeing all the top landmarks such as the beautiful modernist Central Market, the medieval silk exchange and the Gothic cathedral. Wander past palaces, churches along ancient alleys and through peaceful plazas.
In the 1950s, Valencia suffered devastating floods following when the River Turia burst its banks. As a result, the river was diverted southwards away from the city, which left the original riverbed dry. This is now the site of a lush, landscaped green lung that meanders through the city, the Turia Gardens. Cycle the bike lanes flanked by ponds, fountains, flowers, cafes and playgrounds. A wonderful escape route from the urban jungle for residents and visitors alike!
Further 『downriver』 from the gardens is the ultramodern City of Arts and Sciences, a vast complex of avant-garde buildings. See L'Hemisferic projection hall, the Museum of Sciences, L'Umbracle – a landscaped walk surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers – L'Oceanografic marine park and much more.
